CDM Advisor Services
Expert CDM advisory support for clients, principal contractors, and project teams. We help you navigate the regulations so you can focus on delivering your project.
What is a CDM Advisor?
A CDM Advisor provides expert guidance to help clients, principal contractors, and other duty holders comply with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Unlike the Principal Designer, a CDM Advisor is not a formal duty holder under the regulations, but plays a crucial support role in ensuring compliance.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, BPA Services Ltd has been providing CDM advisory services since the regulations were first introduced in 1994. We understand the regulations inside-out, having adapted our services through every revision, and we bring that depth of knowledge to every project we support.
Removing the Burden
CDM compliance can feel like a paperwork exercise that distracts from the real work of building. Our role is to take that burden off your shoulders. We handle the documentation, the notifications, the competency checks, and the ongoing compliance monitoring, so you can concentrate on delivering your project safely and on time.
We're good at solving problems. Whether you're dealing with a complex site, an unusual project, or simply need expert guidance on your CDM duties, we're here to help you find practical solutions that work.
Understanding the Difference
CDM Advisor vs Principal Designer
These roles are often confused, but they serve different purposes under CDM 2015.
Principal Designer
A formal duty holder under CDM 2015 with legal responsibilities.
- Required on notifiable projects (30+ days, more than 20 workers on site at any one time, or 500+ person days)
- Coordinates health and safety during pre-construction
- Compiles and hands over the Health & Safety File
CDM Advisor
An expert consultant who supports duty holders in meeting their obligations.
- Supports clients, principal contractors, and designers
- Provides guidance on compliance and best practice
- Flexible involvement based on your needs
BPA can provide both roles on your project if required, giving you seamless CDM support from design through to completion.
